“Number 8”

Jackson Pollock, “Number 8,1949,” 1949. Oil, enamel, and aluminum paint on canvas.

As I am still up grading papers – no analysis tonight! Except that this painting is what I feel like right now! I can feel the chaotic rhythms of the drips and brush stokes – you might think your 3 year old could do it – but this guy was pretty revolutionary – art all about formalism – no content – just pure emotion.
